Last week, Stephanie was sucked out of her house, and rode a golden river of sunlight. The river ended at the base of the Temple Glennconn. There she was informed why she had been brought to the temple. You can catch up with week one and week two here.
Standing on the steps of the temple, Stephanie stared at the man in confusion. “I’m lost. How do I get home?”
“You can’t.”
“This is unacceptable. I have a life, and a family. I can’t just say goodbye to everything I know.”
“You don’t have a choice.”
The man turned and climbed the steps of the temple. Stephanie took one last look at the flowing river, before following him reluctantly. Once inside the temple, two young women in rough spun dresses led her to a room. As they walked the halls, Stephanie saw random pictures on the walls.
Stephanie wanted to curtail the whole experience. The young women wouldn’t answer her questions, in fact, it seemed like they couldn’t even hear her voice. They finally reached a room deep in the temple complex, the two women waited outside while Stephanie entered.
The room was filled with mismatched objects. Some items looked new, others looked broken and shoddy. Laid out on the bed was a flowing blue dress. Even though Stephanie had received no instructions, she understood what she needed to do.
Looking around the room, she spotted a basin of water. Washing quickly, Stephanie donned the blue dress and returned to the door. When she left the room, the man from the steps was waiting for her.
“Are you prepared?” He asked.
“What do you mean? Prepared for what?”
“Prepared to help the lost. They have come for advice. Are you ready?”
“Do I have a choice?” she asked.
“No.”
“Then what do I have to do?” Stephanie sighed.
“You sit on the throne and use the gem to unscramble their lives. Advice will appear on the gem.
“Give the advice to the lost soul. Easy.”
“If you say so,” Stephanie hedged.
“There is nothing difficult about this job.” He assured her.
“Then why don’t you do it?”
“You were the one chosen to bear this load. You are the only one who can.”
Things got a little weird this week. The words I receive are out there sometimes. I hope I can add a little humor next week, and find a way to get her back home. Next week will be the last installment of this story (maybe?). I am not sure what I will be posting in March. Thanks for reading, see you next week.
