A Knock in the Dark By Geoff and Michelle Genge
Charles Fort is a paranormal investigator in 1906 New York City. He is preparing to go on a world wide trip to find proof of the paranormal. Determined to have his friend Ripley join him on his quest, Fort won’t take no for an answer.
When New York subway diggers go missing, the story of ‘Knockers’ or ‘Mole-men’ makes its way to Fort’s ears. Fort feels compelled to study this unexplained phenomenon. The mayor of New York, on the other hand, is determined to build the subway for his city, and no little mole-men are going to stop him. Will Fort make it underground to study the Knockers before it is too late?
The story was very interesting. Historical fiction with elements of fantasy. Tesla, Houdini, scientific breakthroughs, and more. I would love to read more of Fort’s adventures. This was a great, quick read. The drawings throughout the book give the readers more details about the described scenes.
I received this book for free for this review.
